Below are entries from the annual  "Liturgical Calendar and Rubrics for the Year of our Lord for the 2017 Divine Services According to the Revised Julian Calendar." Along with our first Sunday (of the month) services of Great Vespers and Liturgy, and third Sunday (of the month) Reader's Vespers and Typica, we have populated the calendar with many of the coming Lenten services beginning February 26 through Pascha April16, coinciding with Western Easter.

If anything we Orthodox are creatures of habit, of repetition, and order. We pray a lot, and we read the prayers of the Saints; we read the scriptures; we stand for hours; we memorize our services through repetition; and we sing almost everything whether it be Vespers, Matins, or Liturgy. May we keep vigil, praying continually, with boundless joy at the coming year!

“Let all mortal flesh keep silence, and in fear and trembling stand, pondering nothing earthly-minded. For the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, comes to be slain, to give Himself as food to the faithful!”
